Raw Pie Run

The nest Raw Pie Run will be taking place on July 14th 2012

An excuse to take out the Striker, Phoenix or Fulcrum or any other kit car for that matter on the presence of just popping out for pie and chips… Miles & miles away! You are welcome to join us, in fact we’d love you to come along and help us build on the kit car numbers that came along last year.

The day is a low key blat. From Hereford into central Wales through A and B roads like only Wales can produce. Last year we headed for Aberystwyth and the sea side for a lunch of pie! Although many actually opted for the healthier ploughmans(!)… Then it was back on the road again to return to Hereford through more amazing scenery via a different route and home in time for supper. Yes – its all about driving, eating and generally nattering with like minded people about these two very popular topics… Popular in Raw’s world at least!

Pie run route details:

On July 14th. we will be meeting up to drive into the Welsh hills and beyond, through some stunning scenery and of course lots of fantastic roads. This years route is not finalised, (as of May) so if you have any suggestion of grade A roads (class A, B or C) which you think we should travel, drop us a line, or call Raw Striker Ltd. on 01432 371169 Suggestions should be close to the general route direction shown on Google maps here>Pie Run Map Link. Please note, this link does not display the actual route, simply a general direction of travel, we will of course take a different route home to keep things fresh. We will not disclose the final route until the day of the event, but will be travelling approximately 200-250 miles there and back, (obviously depending on the exact chosen route).

Phoenix at Goodwood…
We took the Phoenix to Goodwood and got a warm reception from existing customers and many who had never seen our cars before.

We will be at Goodwood again this year – Come and see us; it’s a fantastic show.

As ever at Goodwood theF1 cars will be a huge draw as well as the seemingly endless stream of supercars and of course the quirky and outrageous. For the petrol head this really is Mecca, as was evident by the vast array of nationalities represented in the crowds.

As Complete Kit Car point out it is difficult to “safely extend” your kit car on public roads and therefore not easy to improve your driving skills without visiting circuits to enjoy the freedom they offer drivers.

Track days provide the opportunity to test the limits of your car and your own abilities as a driver can moved onward and upward. It is safe to say that most kit car owners relish the chance to do just this in a safe environment.

Raw attended days offers a great opportunity to join other similar vehicles on a friendly low key track day.

Toyota 1600 20v 4A-GE Supercharger Pack

We now have the new Toyota 4A-GE supercharger kits in stock.

Available as a full kit or part by part, this package simply bolts onto the engine and with the addition of a rolling road engine mapping session you can up your horse power from 145bhp and 116lbft of torque to an amazing 215bhp and 165lbft torque. The engine maintains its high revving characteristics and smooth power curve means it remains extremely driveable.

The package includes the parts needed to convert the 20v silvertop Toyota 4A-GE engine to 220bhp without internal modification.

This kit makes a fun engine…
into a real power house.

Base Engine: The supercharger kit is designed for use with a Toyota 4A GE silvertop (customer supplied) Black top owners please ask for options.

Engine Internals: Internals can be kept standard for low boost levels. (up to 220bhp)
Engine Management: This kit is designed for use with Omex 600, (or other) ECU unit. If your engine is not, please contact us.

Sensors: Map sensor available for boost pressure measurement.
Supercharger: Rotrex – centrifugal supercharger with oil cooler, proven as extremely reliable.

Brackets: Cad designed billet aluminium bracket supplied with kit.

Inlet: Raw designed plenum, retaining standard throttle plates, idle air bypass etc.

Pipework: Vehicle specific and so only the Striker option is given in kit detail. For other vehicle installations, please ask for details.

Inter-cooler: A suitable inter-cooler is required for the installation. Raw can supply one if required.

New Team At Raw Striker Ltd.

Raw Engineering Kit car maker is under new management as from August 25th 2010. Maker of the Striker and Fulcrum has been taken over by two brothers Callum and Jeremy Bulmer. The company has been based in Shelwick since 2002 and will be remaining in the brother’s home county of Herefordshire

This August Mel Coppock, owner of RAW agreed the sale of the business to the Bulmer brothers who are both very passionate about taking on the company with a view to continued production and development of the striker and fulcrum cars.

Callum and Jeremy are firmly committed to safeguarding the outstanding handling agility the cars have gained their reputation from and wish to pursue development of the Striker & Fulcrum where possible, while seeking to underpin the fundamentals of the business and drive RAW forward.

The company will continue to offer bespoke cars for customers as well as production models, additional engine options are planned to enhance the range on offer. The Chief Engineer Martin Jones will be staying with RAW, car owners can continue to call on the wealth of technical knowledge on offer.

The Bulmer brothers will be increasing stock levels of parts for the cars in order to serve customers faster and to service the new online parts shop – which will be opened in due course. Raw will continue backing those drivers racing the Striker and Fulcrum, hopefully to improve on the race results they have already achieved in years to come.

Callum Bulmer said “We have great faith in the Striker and Fulcrum’s ability as cars and want to enable more drivers to enjoy the thrills they can offer, anyone who likes driving will simply love the cars, as we do and it’s the main reason we bought the company!”

Production of the Striker and Fulcrum will continue as normal with new management at the Shelwick premises.

Kit Car Setup

At Raw our engineers have many years experience setting up track and race cars for customers and have made dramatic improvements to lap time for many kit car drivers.

Raw offer a setup for their cars and other marques of kit car. If you wish to get the best out of any car the setup is all important.

Whether it be for road or track use the turn in and balance of your kit car can be dramatically impaired by having an incorrect setup. We would recommend an annual check as a surprising number of vehicles we see are misaligned in one way or another. Customers are usually very pleasantly surprised by the difference in handling a setup session can make.

Service and Repair

As the manufacturer we are obviously well placed to service all Raw kit cars and will also service some other marques on request. The same applies to repair or upgrade of kit cars.

If you have a specific request about alterations you would like to perform to your kit car please get in touch. we can give you peace of mind that the car is track ready, or perhaps put your car back together if you have been over exuberant! Whilst not all accident damage is repairable, if we think it is, we can fix it for you to factory standards.
